Helping businesses find customers with a promotional ads test and new lead ads features

Today, we’re introducing a promotional ads test to help make it easier for people to discover, manage and apply digital promotions to their purchases. We are also expanding our lead ads product, with new features, such as conditional questions and Instant Forms overlaid on web. These questions and forms give people a more tailored discovery and consideration experience for products and services they may be interested in, and help businesses find more qualified customers.

Help your customers save with promotional ads

85% of shoppers actively seek out promotions and offers before making a purchase.1 To help people find brand deals and help businesses complete a sale, we are starting to test a new ad format called promotional ads.

Promotional ads can help people find opportunities to save on products and offers from brands they love. Starting in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and India, select advertisers on Facebook will be able to better engage people through various features that make it easier to find, apply, and manage deals that are relevant to them such as seasonal sales, first-time purchase discounts and holiday promotions.

For example, when people see an ad with a special promotion on Facebook, they can click through to claim the offer, which will automatically apply the discount code. If they don’t complete the purchase, they will receive a reminder notification before the deal ends.

As we learn more in the coming months, we will consider testing additional features to offer more ways consumers can save.

Grow your customers with new lead ads features

We have a variety of lead generation products that are delivering results for businesses today and we’re continuing to invest in this work.

First, we are making our lead ad products more dynamic by allowing an advertiser’s question and answer forms to update automatically based on how people respond.

For example, an educational institution can ask questions, such as, “What degree are you interested in?” Based on that answer, the subsequent questions would dynamically update to guide the person to more information about a specific program.

We will also soon provide advertisers the ability to overlay Instant Forms on their business’s web page within our in-app browser. With this feature, people can engage with the rich media formats on a business’s web page to get more context about the business, and then easily submit their information through Instant Form using Meta’s auto-fill capabilities, which automatically pulls in a person’s information based on what they’ve provided to Meta (often, name and email address).

Businesses using our new pages experience can now engage prospective customers and find quality leads for free by adding a contact form to the “Contact Us” call to action button on their Facebook page, so people can inquire and seamlessly start a conversation with their business through Messenger. This is a great option for a business to connect with interested customers before choosing to set up a lead ad campaign.
